First of all, get yourself all the required body templates. Without them you can't work, so be sure is the first thing you do. You can choose between different templates. On you to choose the one you will work with. Check the ones generously offered by Chip Midnight on the SL creation portal or Robin Wood templates. Download all templates and be sure you unzip them in an easy-to-find place, because you'll be using them very often. I like using both, depends of my mood. You choose the one you like most.

Once downloaded, open your favourite graphics program that can import Adobe PhotoShop documents and has layers and alpha channels like payable PhotoShop, Corel PaintShop Pro or the free GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP).
